Basically my nail art was inspired by my fellow blogger and friend Priyanjana who did a vintage rose nail art.. I wanted to do the same nail art but then thought of giving it a Gone Trendy twist

Things you need:

1. Skin colored nail polish.

2. Lemon yellow nail polish.

3. Red nail polish.

4. Black nail polish.

5. Green nail polish.

6. Dotting tools.

7. Thin paint brush.

8.Top coat. (essential)

Gather everything and begin!

Start with a ranara base coat to protect you natural nails.

Step One: Do a gradient using skin colored and yellow nail polish. If you don’t know how to do it, check my tutorial for gradient nails.

Step Two: Before we start making roses, use a top coat to seal in your gradient design and give you a smooth surface.

Step Three: Using a dotting tool dipped in red nail polish, make random large dots on your nails. Don’t worry if the dots are not perfectly round.

Step Four: Now this is tricky, using a thin paint brush dipped in black nail polish make a ‘U’ at the center of a red dot.

Make another ‘U’ going slightly outwards from the center.

Keep doing small spaced lines in a spiral manner till you finish outlining the red dot.

Step Five: Repeat for all the red dots.

Step Six: Use the brush dipped in green nail polish to make a few leaves here and there.. Don’t over do the leaves,just a few look great.

Step Seven: Seal in your design with a top coat.

Clean up around the edges of your nails and we are ready to flaunt this pretty roses on a sunny day nail art with a cute floral dress!

Lets get this sexy and easy design started!

Things you need:

1. Base Coat.

2. Peach nail polish.

3. Black nail polish.

4. Toothpick or dotting tool.

5. Top coat.

6. Confidence

Step One: Start by applying base coat to protect your natural nails.

Step Two: Do french tips for all your nail using the peach colored nail polish.

Step Three: Using a toothpick or dotting tool dipped in black nail polish make multiple dots such as to form a ‘C’.

Step Four: Make a few ‘O’s in the same fashion and some random dots to fill empty spaces.

(Keep in mind you have to do step three and four only on the french tips)

Step Five: Give your french tip a black border on your ring finger. (This is optional but I always prefer to keep my ring finger different from the rest)

Step Six: Apply a fast drying top coat to seal in your design.

Step Seven: Flaunt your new nail art with confidence

Things you need:

1. Sky blue nail polish.

2. Dark blue nail polish.

3. Striper brush.

4.White nail polish.

5. Top coat.

Lets begin!

Apply base coat to protect your natural nails.

Step One: Apply two coats of sky blue nail polish to all nails except the ring finger and thumb and allow it to dry. Do french tips for the ring finger and thumb.

Step Two: Using a striper brush dipped in dark blue nail polish, do 3-4 vertical lines over the sky blue polish.

Step Three: Using a dotting tool or toothpick dipped in white nail polish make some frosting for your cupcake in the ring finger and thumb. To do this make a rough triangle over your french tip.

Step Four: Make a red cherry at the top of the frosting using a dotting tool dipped in red nail polish. You can also make sprinklers using different colored polishes.

Step Five: Apply a fast drying top coat to each nail to seal the design in!

Things you need:

1. Yellow nail polish.

2. Silver nail polish.

3. Blue nail polish.

4. Black nail polish.

5. White nail polish.

6. Red nail polish.

7. Toothpicks or dotting tool,thin paint brush.

8. Top coat (essential)

Let’s get this cute design started!

Step One: Apply base coat to protect your natural nails.

Step Two: Paint your nails with two-three coats of yellow nail polish and allow it to dry.

Step Three: Do blue french tips to each nail.

Step Four: Using a dotting tool or toothpick dipped in silver polish, do two large dots or a single large dot at the base of each nail.

Step Five: By the time the silver dots dry, give your minions expressions using different smileys on each nail. To do this, dip a brush in black polish and make a smile or grin or frown lips ( you can do anything you like! If different expressions are too difficult for you, just do a simple smile).You can also show sticking-tongue-out smiley using a red polish.Or a shocking smiley by making a large black dot.It’s totally up to you!!

Step Six: Now that the silver dots are dry, make smaller white dots in them using a toothpick dipped in white nail polish.This makes the eyes of your minion.

Step Seven: Do even smaller black dots for the pupil and give finishing touches.

Don’t forget to make the frame of the minion using a brush dipped in black polish!( I have no idea why my hand looks so red in this pic)

Step Eight: Finish the nail art with a fast drying top coat. This will seal your design in.

That’s it!! The cutest despicable me 2 nail art is ready!

Today I decided to do a rainbow polka dot nail art..it looks sooooo cool! I would love to wear this nail art all the time!

Things you need: 

1. Base coat.

2. White nail polish.

3. Purple,blue,green,yellow,orange,red nail polishes.

4.Dotting tool or toothpick.

5. Top coat.

6. Nail polish remover and cotton bud.

Let’s begin!

Step one: Apply base coat to protect your natural nails.

Step Two: Apply two coats of white nail polish and allow it to dry.

Step Three: Make few large dots and many small dots withe the help of dotting tool or toothpick dipped in purple nail polish. Do this very close to the base of your nail.

Step Four: Similarly make dots using a toothpick or dotting tool dipped in blue polish. ( I make the large dots with a dotting tool and smaller ones with a toothpick.You have to do 1-2 lines of each colour depending on the size of your nail.)

Step Five: Continue making dots using green, yellow, orange and red nail polish. ( Red dots will cover the tip of your nails). Allow to dry.

Step Six: Apply top coat to get an even finish. Top coat will also make your nail art stay longer!

Step Seven: Clean cuticle and skin with a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover.

Yay! Rainbow polka dots nail art is done!! It look so good <3

Today’s challenge was to do gradient nails! Well this was not my first attempt to gradient nails however it was the most successful one. I love this nail art so much right now I just don’t want to let it go..

Things you need:

1. Base coat.

2. White nail polish.

3. Pink nail polish.

4. Plastic.

5. Sponge.

6. Toothpick.

7. Top coat. 

8. Nail polish remover and cotton bud.

Let’s begin!

Step One: Apply base coat to protect your natural nails from staining.

Step Two: Apply two coats of white nail polish and allow it to dry.

Step Three: On a piece of plastic do two thick lines of pink and white polish (as shown in pic).

Step Four: Quickly mix the two lines with the help of a toothpick. You just have to move the toothpick in a circular motion.

Step Five: Press a sponge on this polish and gently dab on your nail. You will have to do this multiple time to get the desired effect.

Step Six: Once you have the desired gradient on your nails,apply top coat to seal the design in.

Step Seven: Clean the cuticle using a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover.

That is it!! The super awesome and chic pink gradient nails are ready This nail art looks cute on both long and short nails!

Things you need:

1. Black regular/matte polish.

2. Metallic golden polish.

3. Cello/scotch tape.

4. Wave scissors.

5. Dotting tool/toothpick.

Step One: Apply black regular or matte polish and allow it to dry. I have applied matte polish to the pointer and pinky finger and regular to middle and ring finger, just to give you an idea. You can also make the matte polish at home (READ HERE).

Step Two: Take your wave scissors and cut the cello/scotch tape.

Step Three: Stick the cut tape to the tip of your nail and paint the tip with metallic golden nail polish.

Remove the tape once the polish is dry. Repeat for all nails.

Step Four: Do three dots using a toothpick or dotting tool dipped in golden metallic polish, on one side of the nail.

Step Five: Clean any errors or polish from the cuticle using a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover.

That’s it! I really had fun doing this nail art! Let me know if you try this

Things you need:

1. Base coat.

2. White nail polish.

3. Black nail polish.

4, Dotting tools and toothpicks.

5. Top coat.

Step One: Apply base coat to protect your natural nails.

Step Two: Do a semicircle at the tip of each nail using white polish.(this part is similar to what we did in the frog nail art). Do two coats if needed.

Step Three: Using a dotting tool dipped in black nail polish, do two large dots for the ears. Leave enough space between them and also make sure only half of the dot is inside the semicircle and other half is outside.

Step Four: Again, do two large dots between the ears and inside the white semicircle.Allow it to dry.

Step Five: Do two white smaller dots inside the dots you did in step four and one even smaller black dot for the pupil.

Step Six: Using a toothpick dipped in black polish do one small dot between and below the eyes for the nose.

Step Seven: Apply top coat to protect your nail art from chipping away.

Your cute panda nail art is ready I’m lovin’ it!

This cute blue french tip with flower nail art is ready!! Try it and flaunt it wherever you go

With this post I introduce a new nail art technique called nail taping

Nail taping is basically using a tape to do your designs..its very easy..but can sometimes be time consuming.. 

Here’s how you do this simple nail art using tape:

Things you need:

1. Your favourite nail polish. I have used a purple shade.

2. Cello Tape or Scotch tape.

3. Black nail polish.

4. Bright nail polishes of your choice.

5. Toothpick.

6. Top coat.

Step One: Paint your nails with your favourite nail polish. Do two coats if needed. Allow it to dry.

Step Two: Take a Scotch tape and cut it into triangles. You will need 3-4 such triangles depending on your nail size.

Step Three: Stick the tape triangles to your nail such that a zigzag is formed(see image)

Step Four: Colour the left over tip of the nail with black nail polish. Wait for the polish to dry then just pull the tape off..You can see that a star burst is formed

Repeat for all nails.

Step Five: Using a toothpick fill in the star using a nice bright coloured nail polish.This is optional..I like the coloured star rather than an all black star.Make sure you leave a little black border.

Step Six: Apply top coat for long lasting nail art.

Star burst nail art is ready As I always say its OK to be messy! Clean any mistakes with a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover.

Important:

1. Allow your base coat to dry completely before applying cello tape or else the nail polish will stick to the tape and you will have to start again.

2. It is OK if your stars are not of the same size.

3. Applying top coat helps the nail paint from chipping. Also it gives a smooth shiny finish to your nail art.

4. I used the same tape triangle again and again so that uniform stars are formed(also because I’m lazy )
