31 Day Nail Art Challenge: Metallic wave French Manicure

Today’s challenge is to do a nail art using a metallic polish. Here is a metallic wave french manicure which I feel is very gothic!For this nail art I’ve used the easy nail taping technique but with a twist!

Things you need:

1. Black regular/matte polish.

2. Metallic golden polish.

3. Cello/scotch tape.

4. Wave scissors.

5. Dotting tool/toothpick.

Step One: Apply black regular or matte polish and allow it to dry. I have applied matte polish to the pointer and pinky finger and regular to middle and ring finger, just to give you an idea. You can also make the matte polish at home (READ HERE).

Step Two: Take your wave scissors and cut the cello/scotch tape.

Step Three: Stick the cut tape to the tip of your nail and paint the tip with metallic golden nail polish.

Remove the tape once the polish is dry. Repeat for all nails.

Step Four: Do three dots using a toothpick or dotting tool dipped in golden metallic polish, on one side of the nail.

Step Five: Clean any errors or polish from the cuticle using a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover.

31 Day Nail Art Challenge: Panda Nail Art.

The challenge seven of the 31 day nail art challenge is to do a nail art using the colours black and white!I came up with the cutest nail art ever! The panda nail art! It looks really very cute and is so easy to do it took me just 3 minutes to do it! No lies!

Things you need:

1. Base coat.

2. White nail polish.

3. Black nail polish.

4, Dotting tools and toothpicks.

5. Top coat.

Step One: Apply base coat to protect your natural nails.

Step Two: Do a semicircle at the tip of each nail using white polish.(this part is similar to what we did in the frog nail art). Do two coats if needed.

Step Three: Using a dotting tool dipped in black nail polish, do two large dots for the ears. Leave enough space between them and also make sure only half of the dot is inside the semicircle and other half is outside.

Step Four: Again, do two large dots between the ears and inside the white semicircle.Allow it to dry.

Step Five: Do two white smaller dots inside the dots you did in step four and one even smaller black dot for the pupil.

Step Six: Using a toothpick dipped in black polish do one small dot between and below the eyes for the nose.

Step Seven: Apply top coat to protect your nail art from chipping away.

Your cute panda nail art is ready I’m lovin’ it!

Zooey Deschanel inspired Tuxedo Nail Art.

If you are a fan of Zooey Deschanel, you must have seen her very famous tuxedo nails she wore to the golden globes 2012 awards.

She tweeted on her way to the awards ceremony “I’m wearing a gown but my nails are wearing tuxedos!!!”

So amazing right? You need guts to carry such a nail art with a gown! So i decided to write a tutorial on how to do this tuxedo nail art..

Things you need:

1. White nail polish

2. Black nail polish

3. Dotting tool or toothpick

4. Striper brush

5. Fast drying Top Coat

Step One: Paint your nails with two coats of white nail polish and allow it to dry.

Step Two: Take a striper brush and do a french tip to your nail using black nail polish. Allow to dry.

Step Three: Make two to three dots with the help of dotting tool dipped in black polish. The dots should be made vertically along the center of the nail.

Step Four: For the bow, make a ‘X’ (as shown in the pic) using a striper or toothpick dipped in black polish..fill in the ‘X’ such that a bow is formed.

Step Five: Finish with a fast drying top coat for a long lasting tuxedo nail art!

Geometric nail arts: Checkered Nail art.

Geometric nail arts are fun because you can carry them with almost all types of outfits! Here is my very first geometric nail art- checkered nail art!

These look very complex but are usually easier to do..

Things you need:

1. White polish

2. Black striper polish

3. Toothpick

4. Nail polish remover

5. Cotton bud

Step one: Paint your nails white with two coats of white polish.

Step two: Using a black striper pen, draw 2-3 vertical lines depending on your nail size.

Then draw 2-3 perpendicular lines so as to form a grid.

Repeat for all nails.

Step three: Fill in alternate squares of the grid using a toothpick dipped in black polish. As i always say its OK to be messy! You can always clean off any mistakes using a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover.

Checkered nail art is ready! It’s easy but may take some time to finish…but it’s definitely worth the time right? If you’ve got it, flaunt it!

Newspaper Nail art using water.

Its so easy, You can finish the newspaper nail art using water in 5 minutes!!!

Things you need:

1. White nail polish

2. Cup of water

3. Newspapers

4. Cotton bud

5. Nail polish remover

6. Top coat (really required)

Step one: Paint your nails with a white polish. Do two coats to make it opaque. You can use any other light colour too but I think white is the best because it makes the print visible.

Step two: Take a cup of water and some newspapers .Dip a piece of newspaper in the water.

Wait for 5 seconds and press it hard on your nail (You may have to press hard so the print can come off properly on your nails)

If your print does not stick properly to the nail, clean your nail with cotton bud dipped in water and try again.

Step three: Applying a topcoat is essential, without it the print will be lost in water.

Clean any mistakes made with cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover.

There it is! The amazingly stunning yet easy newspaper nail art!

Quick and Easy Polka Dots Nail art.

Who likes Polka Dots??Who likes nail arts??If you do, I’m sure you’ll love the Polka dots nail art!!

It’s quick, yet easy to do….

Things you need:

1.Black nail polish

2.White nail polish

3.Toothpick

4.Nail Polish remover

5.Cotton buds

6.Top coat

Step One: Paint your nails with a base coat of your choice. I chose the classic black and white.. You can do alternate colours, multiple colours, single colour, anything you like!!Just make sure you put two coats of your chosen colour to make it opaque.

Step two: Choose your polka dots colour.. Here I’ve chosen black on white and white on black.. Choose any contrast yet complimenting colour for the polka dots.

Step three: Take a toothpick, dip it in the polish and make the desired Polka dots!!!

Step four: Clean off the excess and cover with topcoat for a long lasting shine!

Polka dots nail art is ready!!!
