If you really really want the saloon type hair wash you have to be patient! I know how tiring it can get to wash our long hair patiently!!

First of all try to find out your hair type..Is it straight,wavy,curly ? Is it dry,oily,normal? dense,thin? Understanding your hair type goes a long way in having healthy hair!

Once you know your hair type, choose a shampoo and conditioner that best suits your hair type.

Now you are ready to start..

Step One: Oil your hair at least an hour before you plan to wash! I usually oil it at night and wash it off in the morning.. Choose an oil which suits your hair type. Experiment to find out what is best for you! Oil for hair = Food for Humans…all the nourishment and care your hair needs comes with oiling! Make sure you apply enough quantity and massage the oil properly into your scalp.

Step Two: Shampoo!! Take little quantity (yes, little quantity) of shampoo and massage into your wet scalp. A coin sized amount can lather a lot and maybe enough for your hair. You may have to wash again to get rid of the oil. Do not wash too many times, we don’t want to get rid of the natural oils! Rinse properly.

Step Three: Squeeze out all the water.

Step Four: Use a conditioner and apply it starting from the mid length to the tips. A conditioner is not supposed to be massaged into the scalp! Use a wide toothed comb and comb out any tangles formed. Do not over comb as your hair is fragile when wet. Leave the conditioner on for 2 minutes.

Step Five: Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry naturally. Do not use hair dryers all the time..it makes your hair frizzy! When your hair is damp you can opt to use leave – in conditioners such as Livon. Allow it to dry and style as you like

Do not tuck your hair behind your ear when it is wet.It will cause unnecessary bumps.
